Aurel Onut is from a small village in the Apuseni Mountains, region of Transylvania. Onut served a 10-year apprenticeship under Dimitrie Banica a renowned icon painter in Romania, traveling all over refurbishing icons and frescoes. In 1995 after passing a rigorous examination, Onut who is proficient in wood, glass, mosaic, egg tempera, FRESCO, oil and acrylic, was granted a license. After he came in United States, he was completed the inside of a Romanian Orthodox Church in Sacramento, California.

The most special project for Mr. Onut was to be part of the team restoration of The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Sacramento, Calif. (2005)

Aurel has worked in our home in American River Canyon numerous times and his attention to detail and eye for design regarding paint and custom paint is amazing. Basic painting is something he can do, but anything you want done that is "special" or "custom" is where he really shines. Price points are within reasonable boundaries and his time lines are always efficient. Aurel is also respectful and professional and we feel comfortable having him in our home with our family.
